Cape Snowbush Essential Oil

The local name for Cape Snowbush is Kapokbos. “Kapok” is a word for light snow, inspired by the prolific, fluffy white flowers that cover the plant in spring and resemble snow. Used by the indigenous peoples for stomach ailments, a mood enhancer and relaxant, Cape Snowbush essential oil is also used today in local hand-crafted natural soaps and cosmetics, artisanal perfumery, and even gin distilling.
